Individual Registration:

Interested in joining an adult team here at the Ann Arbor Ice Cube?  We currently offer 8 different leagues for varying levels of play.  Below is a list of general league skill guidelines according to USA Hockey.  Of our league offerings, typically only Never-Ever (beginner level) will be individual sign-up so if you are interested in playing in this league for the winter (January - April) please follow the link below [will post late November] and submit your form when registration opens on December 1st.

If you would like to be placed on our "Free Agent" list for our team-registration leagues (B-F2), please e-mail Abe Colwell, Director of Adult Hockey (acolwell@a2ice3.com) with the following information included:
  1. Your age/years of playing experience.
  2. Highest level played (i.e. house, travel, high school, club)
  3. Contact information (phone number/e-mail)

A. Never-Ever (Friday Nights): This player is a beginner in the truest sense of the word. He/she has begun playing the game as an adult and may only have up to three years of playing experience. The basic skills of the game i.e. skating, shooting, and passing are in their infancy and are the main focus of their development.

B. Friday 1/Friday 2 & "D2" League (Wednesdays/Sundays): This player may have three or more years of playing experience mainly as an adult. He/she is showing improvement and comfort with the basic skills of the game. Forward skating has improved, but transitions are still uncomfortable i.e. crossovers with some ability to skate backwards.

C. "C & D1" Leagues (Tuesdays/Saturdays): He/she may be a less experienced adult recreational player with some youth hockey playing experience up to the Bantam house level. The player has limited understanding of where they should be positioned on the ice. Forward and backward skating may be somewhat strong, but maneuverability and transition still needs work.

D. "B" League (Mondays/Thursdays): He/she also has a decent understanding of team play and where they should be positional on the ice. Forward and backward skating skills are strong with good maneuverability and transition .He/she might be an experienced adult recreational player and may have played up to high school for this level.

E. Women's League (Sundays-SPRING/SUMMER ONLY): Available to females of any skill level, as a draft league rosters are balanced as much as possible to ensure competitive league play.
